WHAT THE COURSE COVERS
Utah BCI requires permit applicants to complete a firearms familiarity course taught by a BCI-certified instructor before applying. Shoot Safe's current course registration includes the Utah application and a certificate of completion.

This course is for eligible adults who want to complete Utah's required firearms familiarity training, including non-residents applying from Arizona.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Take the required firearms familiarity course with a Utah BCI-certified instructor.
Complete the current Utah application and gather the required photograph, identification, fingerprint card and other applicable documents.
The Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification receives, processes and determines permit applications. Shoot Safe does not issue the permit.
CURRENT UTAH REQUIREMENTS
Utah BCI currently requires standard permit applicants to be at least 21 years old, complete BCI-certified firearms familiarity training and submit the required application materials. Non-resident applicants may also need proof of a permit from their home state when Utah has reciprocity or recognition with that state.
